A GROUP EXHIBITION FOR ARTISTS

I established Healing Fibers in 2014 to create a platform for myself and other artists to express our social and political views and dissent. When Covid hit in 2020, we had to stop the call to artists. In 2022, we sent a call out but not many artists participated. I think many of us were still overwhelmed with the pandemic. As a result, I realized that this forum has served its purpose for now, and calls are stopped for the time being until further notice.

The website will be maintained honoring the amazing participating artists, and their work, from previous years though. Our commitment to social justice is ongoing. As of February 2023, all the monies saved from Healing Fibers were donated to Doctors Without Borders to help with the latest earthquake disaster in Syria/Turkey region.

My sincere gratitude goes to Maya Asbridge and Lynn Simmons for maintaining the website over the years, and to all the visual artists, lecturers, performers, musicians, organizations, and activists who have given their time and talents to Healing Fibers. I am also deeply grateful for the endless energy, vision, and passion of Barbara Roberts.
